Australian Cricket Analyst Toolkit

Welcome to Australian Cricket and the performance analysis network.

The purpose of this article is to provide a foundation of understanding of the tools, workflows and processes that you will need to get up and running as a performance analyst in the network.

1. Computer

• Considering some of the tools you have access too, it is recommended getting having a HP-ZBook (or equivalent) with premium graphic cards and processing power to code matches. Speak to your CA IT representatives about the options

2. Software

There are a number of different programs you will need to interact within your role. Here is a list below of the recommended programs that you may request from Stumped/Technology Support. When requesting these make sure to ask for them to be available in Company Portal.

NET 10.0.8 Runtime - Pre Requisite for Fairplay Sport Systems

Fairplay Sport Analysis Systems - Primary Analysis & Coding platform for Australia Cricket

Visual Studio Code- Primary access to data warehouse schemas

Microsoft Azure Storage Explorer- Primary access to blob video storage across Australian Cricket

Microsoft BI Desktop- Standard Data Visualization product across Australian Cricket

Python/R Studio- Optional programming products available in company portal

Caffeine - Software that assists with uploading of vision post-match

VLC Media Player- Preferred video player for coding platform

Slack App - Collaboration platform for broadcasting links to 3rd parties

AthleteAI - Bespoke ball tracking & video automation solution

If you require other programs outside this, make sure that you consult the CA IT Representative for your State or Territory, before proceeding.

3. Permission/Access/Accounts

When requesting software, you will also need to gain permission and access to relevant groups before being able to get your hands dirty!

Analyser Anywhere - To access all the game analysis performance data from the cloud, you will need to be setup with a Analyser Anywhere account. Each state have admins who should be able to action this, however if you need additional help setting up reach out to AMS.Support@cricket.com.au

Fairplay Analyser - Once Fairplay Sports Analysis system is installed you be assigned a Licensee key and send through support@fairplay.com.au or see Installing/Licensing and for more details.

Visual Studio Code - To access all the performance data from the data warehouse you will need to gain access to the relevant databases.  Here are the details for 3 of the primary databases recommended,

Fair Play Datamart (Game Data)

Server: auscricketams.database.windows.net

Database: auscricketpdae

Purpose of this database is to collection of match data out of Fair Play.

* You will need to lodge a ticket with Tech Support asking to the relevant Database & to be added to SEC_HP_PerformanceData_ReadOnly group

Community Cricket (PlayHQ)

Server: ac-prod-sql-datamarketplace.database.windows.net

Database: AC-DataMarketplace

Purpose of this data is to cover pathways and premier cricket

* You will need to lodge a ticket with Tech Support asking to the relevant Database & to be added to SEC_DMP_DWH_PerformanceAnalysts_ReadOnly. group

High Performance Data (Tom's Data)

Server: ac-prod-sql-datamarketplace.database.windows.net

Database: AC-TP-HighPerformanceData

Purpose of this database is to be a working space for High Performance data.

* You will need to lodge a ticket with Tech Support asking to the relevant Database & to be added to SEC_DMP_DWH_PerformanceAnalysts_ReadOnly group

Storage Explorer - To access all the match analysis video from the storage explorer you will need to gain access to the relevant blob containers.  Here are the details for 2 of the primary databases recommended

Auscricketfairplayase

- production for all match analysis video to Fairplay naming conventions

Cricket21ese

- blob container landing point for 3rd party Cricket 21 to drop storage post match. Only needed if matches are being outsourced to them
