Live AthletesAI capture isn't always possible. If the match video was captured using the same protocols as live capture, you can run AthletesAI after the match and then import the results into Analyzer and the data warehouse.
This guide uses Coding Mode in the CricketAI app, for matches that have already been coded in Analyzer.
1. Set up and prepare
Before you start, check that:
- The match video has been captured into Analyzer ball by ball, and is named using the MatchID and the standard naming conventions.
- The video was captured at 50 FPS and shows enough of the pitch for calibration.
- Write requests and Read responses are ticked in the match setup (see section 4).
- The video files are in the standard Analyzer video folder.
2. Write AthletesAI requests
Once the match is coded in your local database and the video is in your local video folder, open Analyzer.
- Before opening a match, go to Reference > Utilities > Write Athletes AI requests in the top menu. This option is greyed out while a match is open.
- Select the match and click OK.
- Analyzer writes the AthletesAI requests in bulk to your requests folder (by default, C:\FairPlay\Cricket\AthletesAI\Requests). A message confirms when this is done.
3. Run AthletesAI
- Open the CricketAI app.
- Under Select Processing Mode, choose Coding Mode and enter the MatchID.
- Click Start. The app processes the video using the XML request files created in section 2.
4. Import into Analyzer
When processing is complete, import the results into Analyzer. You do this from the main coding screen, the same way you would when receiving AthletesAI data while coding a match live.
- Open the match for coding. On the Setup Match screen, go to the Options tab and check that both boxes in the Athletes AI frame (near the bottom) are ticked: Write requests and Read responses.
- On the coding screen, open the AthletesAI log by choosing View > Athletes AI from the top menu.
- The log automatically scans for AthletesAI position responses and shows the status of each file as it arrives. As AthletesAI works through the clips, more deliveries are updated.
- Analyzer imports responses in batches of 10 and processes both innings together.
5. Check the data
To check that the data has reached your local database, view it in the match dashboard.
To see the imported pitch maps and beehives, go to the Impact tab and change the Pitch and Beehive filters from the coded options to the "as imported" options (for example, Impact as imported).
Note: If a delivery doesn't meet AthletesAI's minimum quality threshold, it won't be accepted or imported.
6. Validate the data
While you're in the coding window, you can review and bulk edit AthletesAI data by choosing Edit > Bulk Edit Athlete's AI X/Y data.
Values that differ significantly from the coded values are highlighted in red. This screen only shows the innings whose coding window you're in.
- To decide whether to keep the coded or the AthletesAI values for a delivery, double-click it to open its coding window.
- To clear AthletesAI values, select one or more deliveries and click Edit X/Y Data. You can clear individual values or clear all AthletesAI values for those deliveries.
7. Export to the cloud and data warehouse
Once the import is successful, export the match to the cloud. This sends the data from your local database to the data warehouse.
